After just four-and-a-half months of cycling an average of 30 to 65 miles per day, event planner (and official reason to love New York) Jeffrey Tanenhaus reached Blythe, California, on Saturday. Tanenhaus, who has incurred $1,200 in fees since fleeing NYC on a Citi Bike at the end of the summer, told NBC New York that he plans to continue on to Santa Monica before somehow returning his vehicle to its rightful home. “I’ve spent enough time on this bicycle — it’s someone else’s turn,” he said, just in time for yet another expansion.
