With the release of the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer, we now have the firmest look at the film’s J.J. Abrams–helmed plot yet: We’ve got a peek at Poe Dameron and the rest of the Resistance, more scary shots of Kylo Ren’s … let’s say unique lightsaber, and enough BB-8 to require an immediate trip to the dentist. There’s been a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices cried out, “Awesome!” all at once. Starring Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, and Lupita Nyong’o (and that’s just a select few), the film will be released on December 18.
Below, you can find the film’s first trailer, which Abrams unveiled at April’s Star Wars Celebration event. It’s got crashed Star Destroyer! Lightsabers! Stormtroopers! TIE Fighters!
