The slithering reptile — which frightened people so badly that they were unable to tell whether it was two-, six-, or ten-feet long — has been adopted by a man and a woman who are apparently unafraid of snakes, DNAinfo reports. (For the record: It was a relatively modest four feet long.) “Believe it or not, she was very, very friendly and had a lot of interested buyers,” said Z Rodriguez, who runs the shelter where the king snake was brought after it was captured. “City rats would be able to kill that snake,” he added while explaining that the creature was never a threat to humans. “City rats are huge and crazy.” Gross.
