Atavist Books, the ebook start-up launched in 2012 with funding from IAC’s Barry Diller, will shutter at the end of 2014 owing to the fact that the market it was targeting “has yet to emerge,” according to Publishers Lunch. The digital publisher’s assets will be folded into IAC and the Atavist, the monthly nonfiction publication and publishing platform. Ebooks, you guys: still not a particularly lucrative business.
