Two weeks ahead of its October 1 season premiere, Saturday Night Live is still filling out its ranks. In addition to Mikey Day, Alex Moffat, and Melissa Villaseñor, all of whom will act as performers on SNL’s 42nd season, Splitsider reports that the show has added seven new writers. Among the newbies are Nick Kocher and Brian McElhaney — the two halves of internet comedy duo BriTANicK — as well as Jimmy Kimmel Live! vet Zack Bornstein, UCB players Joanna Bradley, Anna Drezen, and Kristen Bartlett, and comedian Julio Torres. The joining scribes will work under newly promoted head writers Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider, though it’s unclear what other existing writers are returning. A hearty congrats to the lucky yuksters!
